How to get a Dutch VOG with an apostille.
Need a Dutch Certificate of Conduct (VOG) for immigration, employment or another procedure abroad? I help coordinate the application, court apostille, optional sworn translation and secure worldwide delivery.
A VOG is issued by Justis, not by a municipality.
A Dutch Certificate of Conduct is an official screening certificate issued by Justis. The application route depends on whether you live in the Netherlands or abroad and on the purpose for which the certificate is needed.
For international use, the original VOG may need a court apostille before it is accepted. I can coordinate the Dutch-side steps, so you do not need to arrange separate visits to the issuing authority, court and courier.
Apostille Assist is an independent, paid document coordination service. The VOG decision and issuance remain exclusively with Justis, and an apostille does not change the outcome of the screening.
What do you need for your Dutch VOG?
Choose the support relevant to your situation. I will review the available route before confirming the scope.
VOG application coordination
Assistance with the applicable Justis application route, including applications from outside the Netherlands.
VOG for use abroad
Support for certificates requested by foreign employers, immigration offices or licensing authorities.
Court apostille
Submission of an eligible original Dutch VOG for apostille authentication by a Dutch court.
Sworn translation
Coordination of a sworn translation into the required language, with additional authentication where necessary.
From VOG application to international delivery.
I manage the agreed steps in the Netherlands and keep you informed, while Justis remains responsible for assessing and issuing the certificate.
Confirm the purpose and destination
Tell me which country and organisation require your VOG. I review whether an apostille, sworn translation or other formalities are requested.
Prepare the appropriate VOG application
I help coordinate the application details and route. Depending on your residence and circumstances, additional identification or supporting documents may be needed.
Wait for the Justis decision
Justis independently assesses the application and decides whether to issue the VOG. Its processing time is outside my control.
Arrange the court apostille
Once the eligible original certificate is available, I coordinate the apostille submission at a Dutch court.
Translation, scans and delivery
If needed, I arrange a sworn translation and any applicable separate apostille, then provide agreed scans and tracked international shipping.
A VOG apostille is not the same as a VOG application.
Apostille authentication verifies the official signature or seal. It does not certify your background, guarantee issuance or replace the receiving authority’s document requirements.

Frequently asked questions.
Can I request a Dutch VOG while living abroad?
Yes, a VOG application from abroad may be possible through the relevant Justis procedure. The supporting information and submission route depend on your circumstances.
Can you guarantee that Justis will issue my VOG?
No. Justis independently reviews each application and decides whether a VOG can be issued. My service covers coordination, not the screening decision.
Does a Dutch VOG always need an apostille?
No. Whether an apostille is required depends on the destination country and the receiving authority. Check the exact requirements before ordering.
Can you apostille a scanned VOG?
An ordinary scan is not normally sufficient for court apostille submission. The eligible original certificate must be available.
Can you arrange a sworn translation?
Yes. I can coordinate a sworn translation and, if requested, a separate apostille for the translation.
How long does the process take?
The overall timeline depends on Justis issuing the VOG, court handling, translation needs and delivery. I can estimate the follow-up steps after reviewing your case.
