Received an email saying your document
must bear an apostille?
If a university, employer, notary, registry, embassy or authority says your Dutch document must bear an apostille, the requirement is clearer but the document route still needs one final check. Apostille Assist verifies whether the document is suitable and coordinates the agreed Dutch submission.
Choose the right level of support
Use apostille submission when the email clearly identifies the correct document, the destination route supports apostille and the suitable original is available. Choose document coordination when the document version, prior legalisation, replacement, translation or wider request is unclear.

Keep the complete email and attachments
A single sentence can be useful, but the sender, procedure and attached checklist provide the context.
Confirm that the document is apostille-ready
A clear request does not automatically make every scan, copy or printout suitable for the Dutch court.
From written request to apostilled document
Use the email to keep the route limited to the required document and formalities.
Share the email
Send the complete instruction, attachments and sender details.
Check the document
Confirm the issuer, version, signature and any prior legalisation.
Submit for apostille
Present the suitable paper document through the correct Dutch court route.
Return for use abroad
Arrange tracked delivery and any confirmed translation or resubmission.
The apostille authenticates the relevant signature, seal or official capacity. It does not turn an informal copy into an official document or resolve missing content, expiry or translation issues.
Why use Apostille Assist?
Written request reviewed
The email is checked together with the exact document and destination.
Simple route stays simple
A suitable apostille-only case can remain straightforward submission.
Wrong submission avoided
Copies and documents needing a prior step are identified before court presentation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the email enough to prove that I need an apostille?
It is strong evidence of the recipient’s instruction. The destination, document type and procedure should still be checked to avoid applying the instruction to the wrong document.
Can I send a printed scan to the Dutch court?
Not automatically. The court requires a suitable official paper document with a signature or seal that can be authenticated.
Where is a Dutch apostille issued?
A competent Dutch district court issues the paper apostille. Apostille Assist independently coordinates the agreed submission and return route.
Does every Dutch document go directly to the court?
No. Some educational, notarial, company, tax or privately signed documents may require a prior legalisation or certification step.
Should I translate the document before obtaining the apostille?
Not automatically. Confirm whether the recipient wants the original document and apostille translated and which translator status it accepts.
Does the apostille guarantee acceptance?
No. It authenticates the relevant signature, seal or official capacity. The receiving organisation decides whether the document content, version and format meet its requirements.
Did the email say your document must bear an apostille?
Share the full email, destination country and document currently available so apostille readiness can be confirmed before submission.
