A Vietnamese authority may ask for a Dutch birth certificate for a family, residency, nationality or other official procedure. If the certificate was issued in the Netherlands, I can check what is needed and coordinate the agreed Dutch steps for you.

Vietnam’s document route is changing in September 2026.
Vietnam’s Apostille Convention takes effect on 11 September 2026. If your Dutch birth certificate is needed around this transition, the date and the instructions from the organisation in Vietnam should be checked before the document is submitted.
Do not assume the new apostille route already applies before the Convention takes effect for Vietnam.
An eligible Dutch public document can fall under the Apostille Convention where it applies between the Netherlands and Vietnam.
