Dutch VOG
without DigiD.
Need a Dutch VOG but cannot use DigiD? A DigiD is not always required. Depending on whether you are registered in the Netherlands or live abroad, the application can follow a written municipality route or the non-resident route directly through Justis. I can prepare the correct route and application package for you.
The correct application depends on your registration status
Are you registered in a Dutch municipality or currently living abroad?
Complete the application and select the correct screening profile
For international use, the receiving organisation’s request can support the application
Municipality or Justis, depending on your situation
You do not necessarily need DigiD to obtain a VOG
The correct route depends mainly on where you are registered. Applicants registered in a Dutch municipality can use a written municipal route in situations such as visa, immigration or work abroad. Applicants who are not registered in the BRP and have no Dutch postal address can apply directly to Justis by email.
You live abroad
If you are not registered in the BRP and do not have a Dutch postal address, Justis provides a direct non-resident application route by email. DigiD is not required for that route.
You are registered in the Netherlands
For purposes such as a visa, immigration or work abroad, a VOG can also be started in writing through the municipality where you are registered.
You need the VOG for use abroad
If the VOG will later need legalisation or an apostille, request the certificate on paper. A digitally issued VOG cannot be legalised for use abroad.
Which VOG route fits your situation?
Select your current status and what you need the VOG for. The checker gives you a practical starting route and prepares a WhatsApp message with the details.

VOG route coordination without DigiD
The core service covers preparation and coordination of the Dutch VOG route. Supporting-document review, apostille and other document steps are added only when your receiving authority or representative requires them.
VOG route coordination
For applicants who need a Dutch VOG but cannot use the normal DigiD-based route and want the application prepared correctly from the start.
What I need to check your VOG route
I first match the Dutch VOG application to the purpose of your VOG nationality file. This prevents adding apostille or translation steps that your receiving office does not actually request.
Your personal details
Full name, date and place of birth, nationality or nationalities and the other details needed for the Dutch VOG application.
The VOG request
Send the relevant checklist, email, letter or screenshot showing what criminal-record document the receiving authority or your representative asks for.
Your Netherlands connection
Tell me whether you still need the Dutch VOG or already have it, so I can start at the correct stage of the VOG route.
Translation or apostille instructions
If your lawyer, Conservatória or other receiving office specifically mentions translation, apostille or legalisation, include that wording so the route can be matched correctly.
Do not assume every VOG file needs exactly the same document chain. The fastest way to avoid unnecessary steps is to send the exact request. I will check the Dutch side of the route before work begins.
Hi, I’m Aaron. I handle your document personally.
When you contact Apostille Assist about a VOG visa or immigration file, you deal directly with me. I review the Dutch VOG requirement, coordinate the agreed steps in the Netherlands and keep you informed throughout the process. No call centre and no handovers between different case managers.
Frequently asked questions
What Dutch police certificate is used for VOG visa or immigration?
When a VOG nationality file asks for a police certificate or criminal-record document from the Netherlands, the Dutch document normally used is the Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG).
Do I need a Dutch VOG if I previously lived in the Netherlands?
It can be relevant when your VOG nationality procedure asks for criminal-record documents from countries where you have lived. Your own checklist or representative should determine which countries must be covered.
Does the Dutch VOG need a Supporting-document review?
VOG nationality guidance can require foreign criminal-record documents to be accompanied by a certified Supporting-document review. I can coordinate a sworn Supporting-document review when it is required for your file.
Does the VOG always need an apostille for VOG?
No. I do not automatically add an apostille. The correct route depends on the receiving office and the instructions for your nationality application. If an apostille is requested, it can be arranged on the Dutch VOG.
Can you help if I no longer live in the Netherlands?
Yes. The service is designed for people abroad as well. I can prepare and coordinate the Dutch VOG route and then continue with the agreed translation, apostille and delivery steps.
Can the finished documents be sent to VOG?
Yes. Once the required Dutch steps are complete, the physical documents can be sent to you, your representative or another agreed address.
Need a Dutch police certificate for VOG visa or immigration?
Send the VOG requirement and I will match it to the correct Dutch VOG route before unnecessary document steps are added.
