How to get a Dutch diploma apostilled.

Need to use your Dutch university degree, diploma or academic records abroad? I coordinate the appropriate Dutch authentication route, court apostille where applicable, sworn translations and worldwide delivery, without unnecessary trips between offices.

Start with the correct diploma route

A Dutch diploma cannot always go straight to court.

Unlike a standard civil-status certificate, a diploma may need verification or authentication before an apostille can be issued. The route depends on the qualification, the issuing institution and the destination country.

For many Dutch education documents, the relevant education authority, often DUO, plays a role before further legalisation. Some documents or destinations require a different sequence. I review the document and its intended use before arranging the appropriate steps.

Apostille Assist is an independent, paid coordination service, not a university, DUO or a Dutch court.

Academic documents

Which educational records do you need abroad?

An employer, licensing body or immigration authority may ask for more than the degree certificate itself. Each document should be checked separately.

Sworn translations

Where requested, I coordinate a suitable sworn translation and assess whether it needs separate authentication.

Translation
My coordination process

From Dutch qualification to use abroad.

I coordinate the agreed steps in the correct order, so you do not have to navigate multiple Dutch institutions on your own.

1

Review your documents and destination

Tell me which diploma or academic records you have, who issued them and where they will be used.

2

Establish the authentication route

I check whether verification through DUO or another relevant authority is needed and whether originals must be obtained or submitted.

3

Coordinate the apostille or legalisation

Where the destination accepts apostilles, I arrange the eligible Dutch document's court apostille after the required preliminary steps. Other destinations may require consular legalisation instead.

4

Arrange translations where needed

I coordinate sworn translations and any separate apostille requirements for the translation, based on the recipient's instructions.

5

Scans and international delivery

When agreed, I share completion scans and organise tracked delivery of the finished physical documents.

Avoid the wrong route

The destination country changes what is required.

A Dutch diploma intended for an overseas employer does not necessarily follow the same process as a diploma submitted for a foreign professional licence.

Apostille countriesFor countries applying the Hague Apostille Convention, an apostille may be the final authentication step after any required Dutch verification.
Non-apostille countriesSome destinations require ministry and embassy legalisation instead of an apostille. I assess the appropriate route before submission.
Multiple recordsA diploma, supplement and transcript may each require separate handling. I clarify the document count and requirements upfront.
Originals and copiesA scan is useful for initial review, but it does not automatically replace an original or an officially issued document for authentication.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Can I get a Dutch university diploma apostilled?

Often yes, provided the document meets the applicable Dutch authentication requirements. The issuing institution and type of record determine the route.

Does my diploma need to go through DUO first?

Many Dutch educational documents require an educational verification or authentication step, often involving DUO. This is assessed for your particular diploma rather than assumed for every document.

Can you handle a diploma supplement and transcript too?

Yes. I can coordinate multiple academic records, but each may require separate verification, apostille or translation.

Can everything be arranged while I live abroad?

Many stages can be coordinated remotely. Whether you must supply an original or arrange a particular form of authorisation depends on the issuing institution and the document.

Do I need an apostille for the UAE or Qatar?

Not necessarily. Some destinations, including the UAE and Qatar, use consular legalisation routes rather than the Hague apostille process. I can assess the relevant destination-specific route.

Can I use a scanned diploma?

A scan can be used for initial assessment. For official authentication, the relevant authority may require an original or officially issued document.

Need your Dutch diploma recognised abroad?

Send me the qualification, issuing institution and destination country. I will review the document route and explain how I can coordinate the required authentication, apostille or legalisation.
