Original document with all annotations
required.
A foreign authority may reject a scan, short extract or incomplete copy and request the original document with every annotation. Apostille Assist helps interpret that wording, identify the complete Dutch record and coordinate the agreed issue, apostille, translation and delivery route.
Choose the right level of support
Use apostille submission when the correct complete document is already available and the apostille requirement is confirmed. Choose document coordination when a new full copy, missing annotations, supporting records, translation or delivery still needs to be arranged.

- For an official document already suitable for the confirmed route
- WhatsApp progress updates
Document Coordination
For a request involving a new full copy, document selection, annotations, related records, translation or international delivery.
- Review of the foreign wording and current document
- Coordination of the agreed Dutch-side document route
- Additional costs confirmed before work begins
Original does not always mean the oldest paper
In international document requests, original often means a newly issued official paper document or certified copy from the competent Dutch authority.
All annotations means the complete record
Annotations can record later legal events or corrections that do not appear on a short extract or basic certificate.

Frequently asked questions
What does original document mean in this request?
It often means an official paper document or certified copy issued by the competent authority, rather than a scan, ordinary photocopy or informal download.
What are document annotations?
Annotations are later official entries, corrections or legal events added to the underlying record. They may appear as marginal notes, reverse-side entries or attached pages.
Is a multilingual or short extract enough?
Not necessarily. An extract may summarise the record without reproducing every annotation. The recipient should confirm whether it accepts that form.
Can an apostille fix an incomplete document?
No. An apostille authenticates origin and signature. It does not add missing information, annotations or attachments.
Must every annotation be translated?
The foreign recipient may require translation of the complete document, including marginal notes, stamps, apostille and attachments. Confirm the scope before translating.
Can the complete document be arranged from abroad?
Many Dutch document routes can be coordinated remotely, depending on the issuing authority, eligibility, identification, authorisation and original-paper requirements.
Asked for the original with all annotations?
Share the exact instruction and every page of the document you currently have so the complete Dutch-side correction route can be reviewed.
