court order
Amsterdam
An official copy of a court decision.
A judgment (vonnis) is a court decision, for example in civil litigation. A court order (beschikking) is a decision in petition proceedings. The authority able to issue a copy depends on the original case.
This page covers other judgments and orders issued by Amsterdam District Court. Separate request pages are available for common family-law documents.

Questions about judgments and court orders.
Can I request another copy of an old judgment?
Sometimes. Availability depends on the court, retention periods, the type of case and your entitlement to a copy.
What if I no longer know the case number?
The decision date, names of the parties or an old copy may help. We assess what information the court needs to locate the case.
Can anyone request a copy of a judgment?
No. Access rules vary by procedure and document. A published, anonymized decision is not the same as an official copy from the case file.
Can a default judgment also be requested?
Potentially, depending on the case and your entitlement. We assess the applicable request procedure.
Can a judgment or court order receive an apostille?
An eligible official court document may qualify for an apostille. The precise procedure and the receiving authority’s requirements must be checked first.
Can I arrange this from abroad?
You can discuss your request with us remotely. We assess whether representation is possible and what authorization or identification is required.
Is Apostille Assist part of Amsterdam District Court?
No. Apostille Assist is an independent commercial service provider and is not affiliated with the Dutch judiciary.
