Dutch documents
for use in the UAE.
Need to use a Dutch document in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the UAE? This page gives you an overview of common document types and the support available from the Netherlands.
The document type matters.
A Dutch company extract, diploma, birth certificate or signed legal document can each have a different route before it is accepted in the UAE.
This page brings the main document categories together in one place, so you can go straight to the information that is relevant to your document.
If the organisation in the UAE has given you specific wording, it is useful to keep that request with the document. That helps avoid unnecessary steps or the wrong version being prepared.
Dutch documents commonly used in the UAE.
Choose the document category that matches what you already have or what the receiving organisation has asked you to provide.
KVK and company documents
Certified Chamber of Commerce extracts, company-register documents, certificates of origin and other corporate evidence.
Diplomas and educational documents
Dutch diplomas, certificates and education-related documents may have their own authentication route before foreign legalisation.
Birth and marriage certificates
Dutch civil-status documents can be requested for immigration, family, residency or other personal procedures in the UAE.
Notarial and signed documents
Powers of attorney, declarations and other signed documents may first require a Dutch notarial or court-related step.
Medical and professional documents
Some certificates from Dutch organisations can require authority-specific preparation before CDC legalisation and UAE use.
VOG and police clearance
Dutch Certificates of Conduct (VOG) requested for employment, licensing or other official procedures in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the UAE.
The same document can be requested for different reasons.
A document needed for employment may be handled differently from one requested for a company, residency or legal matter. The purpose matters because the receiving organisation decides what it wants to see.
Keep the UAE request together with the document.
If an employer, authority, bank, university or other organisation has told you what it needs, send that wording with the document. It is often more useful than trying to interpret terms such as “attested”, “legalised” or “certified” on your own.

Frequently asked questions.
Do all Dutch documents follow the same route for UAE use?
No. A company extract, diploma, civil-status certificate and notarial document can each require a different route. The issuing authority and the request from the UAE organisation both matter.
Can you help if I already have the Dutch document?
Yes. Send me a scan or clear photo together with the request from the receiving organisation. I can review the document and confirm what I can coordinate from the Netherlands.
Can you obtain a Dutch document for me?
For some document types, yes. Whether this is possible depends on the issuing authority, identification requirements and whether authorisation or representation is accepted.
What if the UAE organisation says the document must be attested?
If you already know that UAE attestation is required, see the UAE document attestation service page or send me the document details directly.
Can the completed document be sent directly to the UAE?
Yes, international express delivery can be included where appropriate. The delivery address and courier cost can be confirmed as part of the route.
